The $2.4 Billion Federal SBIR Program was established to help small businesses engage in R&D.   SNEEF is presenting a workshop program on April 11, 2013 which will provide an overview of the SBIR program, including information on the program’s purpose, eligibility and sources of funding. This presentation will provide the information needed for attendees to determine if they would like to seriously pursue proposal development, and to begin efforts to secure SBIR funding.  Dan Lilly, a contract specialists at the MA Small Business Development Center Network, will provide an introductory understanding of the nature and extent of the SBIR program, an understanding of the overall process involved in seeking SBIR grants, the Federal agency sources of funding, and tools to help you prepare a strategic planning prior to proposal preparation.



Marina Katayeva, President of Emitech, Inc., a small high technology company engaged in the development of innovative concepts in the field of nanotechnology and advanced optoelectronic materials, will discuss Emitech’s experience obtaining and managing SBIRs from the Department of Defense.   George Wright, President of GLSynthesis Inc., a chemistry-based company engaged in custom organic synthesis and manufacturing, drug and chemical product research, and product development and sales, will discuss the company’s experience in getting SBIRs from the National Institute of Health, a very different federal agency providing funding.
