What is Cleantech Open (CTO) ?

Cleantech Open is the world’s oldest and largest cleantech accelerator and business plan competition, providing entrepreneurs and corporate innovators the resources they need to launch and grow successful cleantech businesses. Cleantech Open is a nonprofit that is funded by sponsors and supported by over one thousand dedicated mentors and other volunteers. Our one-of-a-kind innovation ecosystem started in 2005 spans key cleantech innovation hubs across the U.S., linking labs and universities, service providers, investors, corporations, governments, and other cleantech incubators and accelerators. Through our annual accelerator, we provide between 100-150 companies in the U.S. a rich program of customer discovery, extensive mentoring, training, investor meetings, startup-corporate matching, and showcasing at both the regional and national levels. Since 2005, more than 70% of our reporting U.S. alumni companies are still operating and have collectively raised over $1.2B in external funding. Join this exciting community and be a part of our global network of innovation.

Cleantech categories are: energy generation, energy distribution & storage, energy efficiency, green building, transportation, chemicals & advanced materials, information & communications technology, agriculture, water & waste.

Startups are matched with mentors who guide you through the curriculum. You’ll develop skills and relationships necessary to progress and build the business foundation for your venture. You’ll participate in a two-day Academy in June (our business bootcamp), five business clinics and pitch clinics, and a two-day Regional Finals in September with Judging, an Investor Connect, an Expo, and $40,000 in cash prizes. At the Global Forum in November, you’ll have additional opportunities to win cash prizes and services and to further expand your network.

Applications are now open for the 2019 Cleantech Open accelerator! Apply here by May 1st.

If you're interested in mentoring cleantech startups, please apply here.
