Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022
Once again the South Coast region will host a series of events the week of November 14th, 2022 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
Our events will be focused on cities and subregions, some with a secondary theme:
Monday: Newport, RI - Blue
5:30 Piranha Pond Blue: Angel Funding Pitch Competition for early stage Blue companies at Innovate Newport in collaboration with the Blue Venture Fund
Tuesday: Fall River
In partnership with Viva Fall River and Started UP*
Wednesday: Fall River, MA
Breakfast Open House at Groundwork
8:30 – 10:30am | 2 Bank Street
Open to the Public; Free Event; registration suggested
Join us for breakfast at Groundwork's newest location in Fall River! You will also learn how local coworking spaces play a key role in supporting entrepreneurship. Breakfast and networking start at 8:30.
At 9:00, Mayor Paul Coogan will host a brief Proclamation Ceremony onsite, commemorating Fall River Entrepreneurship Day 2022.
There will be a short presentation by Groundwork's founder Sarah Athanas, followed by tours of the space. All registered attendees will receive a token for a free hour in any of Groundwork's meeting rooms.
Inspiring Entrepreneurial Thinking
12:00- 1:55pm | BMC Durfee High School

Makers from the Fall River Farmers & Artisans Market and the Viva Fall River Pop-Up Shop will meet with marketing students at BMC Durfee High School to talk about a variety of topics associated with entrepreneurial thinking, including: a discussion on the school’s retail store and how the pandemic affected (or inspired) their entrepreneurial journey.
Meet the Makers Night at the Viva Pop-Up Shop
5:00 – 8:00pm | 333 S Main Street
Open to the Public; Free Event
A monthly event, the Meet the Makers series at the Viva Fall River Pop-up is a chance for customers to interact with the talented, creative artists and makers who sell their product at the collaborate space. Some makers will also be debuting new items from their Holiday collections! Refreshments will be served.
Web3 Networking Night
6:00 – 8:00pm | The Shane Landing Carriage House, 104 Anawan Street
Open to the Public; Free Event

Thursday: New Bedford, MA
New Bedford is for Entrepreneurs and Arts Entrepreneurship
In partnership with EForAll and the OneSouthCoast Chamber
2-3pm – Launch of the NB Walking Guide Prototype App developed by the Business & Engineering students at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Where: New Bedford National Historical Park Visitor Center, 33 William Street, New Bedford, MA
5-7pm- One SouthCoast Chamber Business After Hours Networking event sponsored by the College of Visual & Performing Arts. Celebrate entrepreneurship and network with other business leaders in downtown New Bedford at the UMD College of Visual and Performing Arts (715 Purchase Street, New Bedford). Live piano entertainment, a student art sale, appetizers and cash bar. You must pre-register at OneSouthCoast Chamber
6-7pm - The Business of Art @ Dream Out Loud Studios (Virtual Event) This special event will focus on the business of art including startup challenges, brand development, budgeting and optimizing studio space. Special guest presenters Mercy Bell and Alison Wells.
